Can I still afford my FPL transfer?

Available to spend: £5.5m£5.1m selling price + £0.4m in the bank

Use £m in £0.1m steps, such as 5.3. Prices: 0.1–100.0. Bank: 0–100.0.

A fall in your player’s market price does not always reduce your selling price. To check that risk, open “Don’t know your selling price?” above and enter the player’s purchase and market prices.

What time do FPL prices change?

The official 2026/27 announcement gives midnight UK time. The UK uses BST (UTC+1) in summer and GMT (UTC+0) in winter. If you are abroad, convert using the Europe/London time zone rather than a fixed offset.

The scheduled change time is separate from your Gameweek transfer deadline. Check both on the official FPL website.

Current price is not always your selling price

Purchase price (PP) is what you paid for this spell in your squad. Current price (CP) is what a buyer pays now. Selling price (SP) is what you receive. Your transfer budget uses SP plus the money in your bank.

You keep half of a rise above your purchase price, rounded down to £0.1m. If the player drops below your purchase price, you receive the lower current price. Use the selling price calculator for the full formula and more examples.

Will a £0.1m drop price me out?

£5.3m → £5.2m£5.1m → £5.1m£5.5mStill affordable. Your sale + bank stays £5.5m.
£5.4m → £5.3m£5.2m → £5.1m£5.6m£0.1m short after the fall.

A rise in the player you want to buy is a separate risk. The checker above tests a target price rise using your selling price. To also test your player’s fall and both changes together, choose “Don’t know your selling price?” and enter purchase and current prices.

Where is the official FPL price change predictor?

Log in to the official FPL website and open the Price Changes tab. The Premier League says its indications update every 15 minutes. A threshold above 100% suggests a rise or fall, but does not guarantee one.

This page checks affordability; it does not display today’s risers and fallers or predict tonight’s changes. Use the official predictor to check indications and this calculator to understand their effect on your plan.

Common FPL price change questions

Why do FPL player prices change?

Transfer activity across FPL managers can trigger rises or falls. Popularity can change the market price; your purchase price remains the reference for calculating a sale.

Should I transfer early just to avoid a price change?

A budget check helps you identify whether waiting could make this specific move unaffordable. It does not settle the football decision: weigh injury news, likely minutes, your alternatives and any points hit. If a fall leaves your selling price unchanged, that fall alone has not reduced your transfer budget.

Does a higher team value mean I can spend that amount?

Use actual selling prices when planning sales. Adding up players’ market prices can overstate what you would receive. For several transfers, add all sales and your bank, then subtract all purchases.

What if I already sold a player or confirmed another transfer?

Use your bank and ownership prices as they stand now. The checker assumes you still own the player being sold and have not already received that sale in your bank.
