THE SHORT ANSWER

Above your purchase price, you retain half the increase, rounded down to £0.1m. If the current price is below what you paid, the selling price is the lower current price.

Check a player’s selling value

The starting values are illustrative. Enter what you paid and the player’s current price in £m. This is a rule-based calculation, not a price prediction.

Enter £0.1m to £100.0m in £0.1m steps, for example 5 or 5.3. Extra trailing zeros such as 5.30 are accepted.

Could a price move block your transfer?

Add your bank and the replacement’s price to check your transfer budget. Compare a target price rise, a fall in your player’s price, or both. The FPL price changes guide also explains timing and the official predictor.

Why your selling price can be lower

Purchase price is what you paid when you brought the player into your current squad. Current price is the market value now. Selling price is the amount you would receive; those three numbers need not match.

On a rise: purchase price + half the gain, rounded down to £0.1m

For example, a £0.3m rise gives £0.1m of retained profit, not £0.15m. The calculator uses whole £0.1m units to avoid decimal rounding errors.

Does a £0.1m drop change my selling price?

Sometimes. If you paid £5.0m and the current price falls from £5.3m to £5.2m, you can still sell for £5.1m. But a fall from £5.4m to £5.3m reduces the selling value from £5.2m to £5.1m. Below your purchase price, you bear the full drop: £4.9m to £4.8m also reduces the selling value by £0.1m.

Enter your own prices above to compare the three scenarios. These calculations do not predict a price change or tell you to transfer early.

Check the right inputs

Which purchase price should I use?

Use the price you actually paid for this spell in your squad, not the player’s starting price for the season. Selling and buying the player again changes that reference point. Check the purchase price on your official Transfers page if you are unsure. Look for PP (purchase price), CP (current price) and SP (selling price); use the price paid for your current ownership spell, not the season-opening price.

Does this tell me whether the price will change tonight?

No. It applies the selling rule to two prices you enter. It does not forecast demand, a price rise or the price at a future deadline.

Can I use the result as my full transfer budget?

A sale is only one part of the budget. Add your available bank and any other sales, then subtract all new purchases. Check the live selling price in FPL before confirming a move.

Is the replacement worth a points hit?

Once you have checked your budget, use the FPL transfer hit calculator to compare players and estimated net points.
