THE SHORT ANSWER

Choose a same-position replacement. Radar estimates the points difference from official player and fixture data, then shows what remains after a transfer hit. You do not need to enter expected points.

Who would you replace?

Choose one player OUT, then a replacement in the same position. Compare their estimated points and the cost of one additional transfer. No Team ID needed.

What drives the comparison?

PL Gameweek uses the same experimental model as Team Planner: current-season points per minute, recorded playing time, scheduled fixture difficulty and availability flags. It compares the next gameweek and up to four scheduled gameweeks, including double gameweeks and rounds without a scheduled fixture.

Recorded minutes describe past involvement; they are not a confirmed starting role or a prediction of exact minutes. Injury flags are carried across the comparison period, so recovery and rotation may change the outcome. The model is not backtested. Read how the estimates work.

How a transfer hit changes the result

Net estimated change = incoming player’s projected points − outgoing player’s projected points − this replacement’s hit

For one replacement, no remaining free transfers means a 4-point hit. At least one remaining free transfer means no hit. The cost is deducted once, including in the four-gameweek comparison. Hits already incurred are not charged again.

An illustrative 7-point projected advantage becomes a 3-point net advantage after a 4-point hit. That is a model estimate, not a guarantee; a small margin is sensitive to team news and playing time.

How many gameweeks does a hit take to pay back?

Compare the extra points over the period you plan to keep the replacement, then deduct the hit once. For example, estimated weekly gains of +2, +1, +2 and 0 total +5. After one 4-point hit, the four-week estimate is +1.

This is an illustrative scenario, not a player forecast. Moving the replacement back out earlier changes the comparison period.

Should I take a hit to replace an injured player?

Compare the replacement with the points your team could get without that transfer. If a playing substitute would cover the injured starter, those bench points matter: comparing only against the injured player’s zero can overstate the benefit.

Read how FPL automatic substitutions work. Check the latest team news, your bench and your remaining free transfers before acting. This two-player tool does not simulate bench replacements.

Before making the move

Does a positive estimate mean I should transfer?

It suggests an advantage under this model’s assumptions. Check the player’s news, expected role and upcoming fixtures. This comparison assumes the chosen player contributes ordinary points in each round; it does not optimise your starting XI, bench or captain.

Will it check my budget or club limit?

No squad is imported here. Prices are market prices, not what you would receive by selling. Use the FPL selling price calculator to check the amount a sale would release. Open Team Planner to compare your full squad using reference market prices. Confirm actual selling prices and affordability in FPL.

What if I do not know my remaining free transfers?

Leave Not sure selected. The result shows the range from a 4-point hit to no hit. Choose your actual allowance to see a single net estimate.

Can I compare a Wildcard or Free Hit?

This page handles one ordinary replacement. It withholds results for those chips, which need a whole-squad comparison. Before the season’s first deadline, available estimates use zero transfer cost.

Why are there fewer than four gameweeks?

Near the end of the schedule, only the remaining upcoming rounds are shown. Unscheduled fixtures are excluded. If no upcoming deadline or usable official data is available, the tool shows an unavailable message instead of inventing projections.
